Mercy Rule/Run Rule Per Inning
MERCY RULE
- 7 inning games - 15 after 3, 12 after 4, and 8 after 5.
- 6 inning games - 15 after 3, and 8 after 4.
RUN RULE PER INNING
- 7U-10U: There will be a 5 run rule per inning
- 12U: There will be a 7 run rule per inning
- 14U: No run rule per inning
TIED GAMES
If a game is tied after regulation innings have been completed OR the time limit has expired, the following tie breaker rule will go into effect. Each team will put the last scheduled hitter in the extra inning on 2nd base AND the 2nd to last scheduled hitter on 3rd base. There will be one (1) out. This will continue until a winner is declared. There will not be a tie breaker rule in the Championship game, but the run rule will be enforced.
RULE VIOLATIONS
You must contest a rule violation during the game. Contesting a rule violation after the game will not change the outcome of the game. Example; if a pitcher has exceeded the innings pitched rule, the opposing coach must call time and contest the pitcher while he is on the mound. The moment the next pitcher steps on the mound, the opposing coach loses the opportunity to contest the rule violation. If a pitcher is found in violation, the violating team will forfeit the game.
ROSTER ISSUES
The minimum roster to play in the league tournament is 7. If your team has less than 7 rostered players available (not counting borrowed/guest players), you may still play, but the team will take a loss after the completion of the game. If your roster is under 9 rostered players, you are allowed to borrow up to a maximum 2 players to get your roster to 9, but you are not allowed to exceed 9 players on a roster with borrowed players. Borrowed players must be from within the league. They can be from another town in the league but CAN'T be a select player or from a higher division. Borrowed players must play outfield and can't pitch AND will bat last in the batting order. If you elect to play the game with 7-8 players and you choose to not use borrowed players to get to 9, you will take a maximum of 1 out after the last player in the batting order bats. ***The league retains the right to make roster exemptions in special circumstances.
